The Dakhla lagoon is a shallow, warm bay stretching over forty kilometres. On the western side, a narrow peninsula separates the lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean. Inland, the Sahara stretches out — miles of dunes, plains, and the iconic White Dune.
Dakhla town itself is a quiet city of around 100,000 residents, with a lively medina, a fish market and a handful of excellent restaurants. All the accommodations we use are located outside the town, on the lagoon or directly on the ocean.
The wind follows a reliable pattern. There's an ideal season for every type of trip.
